Tom and Fred, thanking you for your most excellent podcasts. This new podcast is genuine Light. I have been reading and listening to Vernon Howard's works and, in a search for more, came across SuperWisdom. You are fulfilling my deep desire for this same impeccable Reality that follows the Golden Thread. Highest regards for continuity and expansion of Vernon's unique clarity and freshness of expression.

I have been listening to this podcast from the first show, and I have enjoyed it. My question is about listening to this podcast and other material that may have spiritual meaning. As I listen and have the voice that is speaking come from me, should my body vibrate as if I am the speaker from which the sound flows from?

    Karilee,
I would say mostly we feel the vibration in the center. This is the "conversation in heaven" mentioned in this podcast, which is a reference from the Bible. However, I don't know that "should" really fits, since sometimes we may feel the vibration, and other times it is very quiet. Whatever is there Works for what is true and possible at the moment.
Fred and I will mention your comment in an upcoming podcast. Thank you for writing. (Tom)

On studying various Net pages on tanden or hara breathing it seems that there might be a little more clarity. The effect of pressure in the lower abdomen is perfectly plausible and by no means so unscientific as many often make out. One critique reads for example:

"Tanden breathing: Purported means of tapping the tanden (hara), the alleged seat of "human spiritual power."
Tan Tien Breathing: Part of Taoist Healing Imagery that purportedly stimulates the "internal reservoir of energy.""

If you look at http://www.sh.lsuhsc.edu/intragrad/slides/212/alexander/L15_alex.ppt, page headed "Respiratory (Abdominothoracic) Pump" associating inspiration with an increase in abdominal pressure and with venous return. This would involve a massive positive modification of blood flow.

The real reason for the medical world's misgivings seems to be a dislike of any self-treatment.

So really there is nothing the least arcane or occult here.

When I first listened to this podcast I rejected the idea and did not think too deeply about it. After listening again a couple times something clicked in my head and there is no other way to describe it, but to say the idea of Hara felt right. I recently purchased the book and am getting so much out of it. Thank you for introducing this rich and deep concept to me.
